How to Backorder a domain with SnapNames:

These domain names are not expected to become available for at least 36 days. SnapNames will watch for and try to obtain these domain names for you if and when they become available. You will not be charged unless SnapNames acquires the name for you and you are the winner of the resulting auction.

What are the steps?

STEP 1: To place an order for a domain name, you would first search for the domain name using the search tool on the homepage at www.SnapNames.com.

1

STEP 2: Once you do that, you will be taken to the Search Results page, where you will be able to see the domain name, the minimum bid price for the name and whether it is available for sale or only available for backorder.

2

STEP3: To order the domain, click on the Backorder/Available Soon/In Auction/Buy It Now button to the right of the domain name. This will move the domain name into your Shopping Cart.

3

STEP4: When you are done ordering domains, you would click on the View Cart link just above your list of domains to go to the Shopping Cart. Once there, you would click on the Place Order button to complete your order.

4

If you haven’t logged into your SnapNames.com account yet, you will be prompted to do so when you click on the Checkout button. If you don’t have an account yet, you will want to create one by following the ‘New Customer? Click Here’ link.

**Please note that your order is not complete until you click on the Place Order button and have logged into your account.

Once the order has been completed, you can see it on the Pending Orders page of your account. You can find this under the My Activity tab in the toolbar at the top of the page.

Final Note:  If no one else is interested in the domain then you’ll automatically win the auction at the minimum bid. If there is more than 1 backorder for the domain, an auction will be held between everyone who placed a backorder request. At the end of the auction, the highest bidder will win the auction. They will pay whatever the final price is to the auction house, and after some time, will own the domain.
